Short term accommodation, as the name suggests, is the kind of accommodation where you stay for a short duration as opposed to long term accommodation where you have to sign a lease to stay a year or longer. There are many types of short term accommodation options, including:
Hostels/ Bed and Breakfast
These are a cheaper form of accommodation that in most cases, will only cater to bed, or will give the guests bed and breakfast. Most of them charge per day, and they have a strict check-in and check-out times to allow other people to use the facilities.
Furnished Apartments
There are short time options mostly for people on extended holiday or business trips that are longer than a few days, but less than six months. They are apartments that are furnished with electronics and other amenities that you would ordinarily find at a hotel. Most of them charge monthly, and the person staying in the apartment signs a lease to commit to the number of weeks/months that they will be staying.
Apartment Booking Sites
These are short term accommodations where you book where you intend to stay through an online market place. Some popular booking sites are Airbnb, bookings.com, Vibro, and HomeAway. These sites will give you options of places you can rent for a short duration depending on your budget and specific location. It is always advisable that you read the reviews and terms before you book.
Hotels
Hotels also have a short term accommodation option, and they are always more amenities than a hostel or bed and breakfast. Most hotels have a daily rate that is paid either when you are checking in, or on the day that you are checking out. Most hotels also have a restaurant option where you can eat during your stay.
